Please join the LBA Woods Park Coalition on Tuesday, September 15 at 7 p.m. for a rally for Olympia parks.
We are hosting this meeting for everyone to learn about the Metropolitan Parks District–Proposition 1 on the November 3 ballot.
Along with several other parks-advocacy groups, the LBA Woods Park Coalition is in full swing on the YesOlympiaParks campaign to support Proposition 1.
Proposition 1 not a funding mechanism exclusively for the acquisition of the LBA Woods parcels. The goal of the Metro Parks District is to restore the 2004 Voted Utility Tax funding for new park acquisition and to bring in a steady revenue stream for park maintenance and operation. This is our big chance to make Olympia’s 30+ parks all across the city great and to add more parkland for the future.
Our September 15 Rally for Parks will be held at Washington Middle School (3100 Cain Rd. SE Olympia) and is open to all. Learn about:
- The latest on LBA Woods acquisition
- Proposition 1—Metropolitan Parks District for Olympia
- How you can be a part of the campaign for this win-win ballot measure.
- Why your love for parks, your can-do spirit, and your support will make Olympia parks great–now and in the future.
We will need all hands on deck to make sure Prop 1 passes on November 3. Come with questions and ideas, but leave with fliers to distribute in your neighborhood or workplace, a YesOlympiaParks yard sign, and other ideas for spreading the word about Prop 1.
In the meantime, please visit YesOlympiaParks for more information and to learn about other ways you can help now.
