Zabel’s Rhodies at Peak Bloom

Ready for a stroll through a new park?

The “Springwood Parcel”–also known as Zabel’s Rhododendron Garden–on Olympia’s upper Eastside, is must-see-now paradise of blooming rhodies. This new and little-known (and unsigned) park protects the 3-acre paradise donated to the city by the late Art and Peggy Zabel. The rhodies are at peak bloom right now–the colors are stunning. Go!

Access to the park is off Bethel St. NE, on Springwood Ave. The entrance is unmarked but is on the north side of Springwood. It’s a discreet little trail (where the yellow archangel had decided to compete for your attention!)

Enjoy!
